For the very last blog (hehehe.....), I need to cover everything about this subject.
One thing for sure, I had learned about '10 Elements'. With that, now I can really identify what are the article are all bout. It made understand the articles better and I gain lots of knowledge with that.
This subject also teached me how to be a critical thinker (er......), I think. Because after I learned about this subject, I can cought the subject of the articles easyly compared to before I learned this subject.
For that, I want to say thank you very much to Mdm. Suzi. And I also want to say sorry because lots of trouble that I made. Late submit the task, no concentration in class, late came to the class, bla..... bla.... bla...... She tried her best to made the class interesting, fun and full of input. Thank you very much for all that. Ireally appreciate all the energy, the effort that you gave us.

DRUS OR GUNS
For this topic, it's hard for me to understand at the beginning because the title is 'Durgs or Guns' but the article is about amrs and HIV. Hurm....... Then i realized the meaning of Drugs or Guns. 'Durgs' is refers to the HIV while 'Guns' refers to the arms.
The article is about how the President of the Southern African need to face two challenging cases: weapons and AIDS disease.
As for me, the most important is how to prevent the AIDS disease from spread to others. Poor to the little baby that do not anything. And they will suffer to the end of their lives to foght with thes killer disease.
In the other hand, the government should do something rather than buy the expensive weapons for nothing, I think. Try to prevent the disease first then they can think about the arms.
If the citizens are not really good in health, how they want to fight in war? So, it is useless if they buy the very expensive and power weapons but the citizens are not good in health.
Lets think about it..........

DIETING
DIETING
From my understanding, dieting is people that try to loose their weight either in the good or bad way. Actually, I’m not quit understand about this reading. But I try my best to explain about it base on my understanding. People have two ways of dieting which are in healthy way and the other one is in unhealthy way. Women usually really obsess about their weight. Me too. Huhu…
For healthy way, people usually do some exercise like jogging, cycling, swimming or perhaps play sport to loose or to maintain their weight. All these way may help them but it needs to do it consistently. They can’t just simply hope doing it for once a week they can loose their weight easily. That is why I think why people with short thinking have their diet in healthy way.
For the unhealthy way, they usually take diet pill that can give them bad impact in their life like cancer, heart failure and many other diseases. There is a disease called anorexia which the patient scare to eat or in other words they prefer to starve rather than take a small amount of meal. Usually, there are very skinny and as for me they look like ‘mayat hidup’ or in English dead body that looks like alive. Hehehe…. I am so curious how that kind of people can live in that way? For me, I can’t survive if I don’t take my meal although for a half day.
For Mdm. Suzi, please comment on this blog beacuse I think this is the worst blog that I have wrote.

COMMENTING ABOUT ROLE PLAY
Post-apocalypse
The first role play entitles Post-apocalypse by Dinie, Zack, Ida, Ain and Yaya. Actually, I was not really understood what they were presented but I got something. People as commenter, we can give our comment about something but we need to consider their feeling. So, we must give positive respond like comment in good manner, do not use harsh words and we also can give some good opinion for them to improve their work.
Gangsterism in School
The second role play was Gangsterism in School by Leah, Sofia, Alyn, Nana and also me. This topic was talked about gangsterism that happened in school nowadays. In our first role play, we had shown a demonstration on how the gansterism happen. Me, Leah, Sofia and Alyn as a group of gangster asked some money from Nana which was our victim. After Nana refused to give us some money, we beat her until her not moving. For the second role play, we were discussing about whom going to participate on preventing gangsterism and what happened for those students that involve in this case.
Burning Out of 9
In this role play, I think I’ve got something from what were they presented. They were talking about how parents should treat their children. In my opinion, I think parents should treat their children in the right way. They need to give their children balance life style, which including social, activities and also study. They cannot simply send their children to involve in many additional activities like music class, dance class or perhaps sports activities without thinking either they have enough rest or not. Parents should arrange their children’s activities wisely or perhaps they can let their children to have their own timetable for their activities.
Out of Puff
This role play was presented by Agus, Wan, Mino, Syah and Nana (Syazana). They were discussed about smoking problem among teenage girls. Nana, played as Lisa is a smoker which thought that it doesn’t matter if girls are smoke. For Lisa’s father (Syah), he was put the blame on the counselor because he thought that the counselor didn’t do his job as counselor. For the Malboro Manager (Agus), h nevr smokes but he sells the cigarettes for money.
Without Any Warning
The last role play was presented by Ash, Kaka, Hanis, Saybah and also Fairuz. This role play is about water problem that happen frequently in Kuantan. Hanis as reporter, tried to get lots of opinion from different side to know what their view about this matter are. Saybah as laundry owner said that if this matter happen frequently, her business will be disturbed. For Fairuz as consumer, she thought if this matter happen, it is hard for her to do their routine as housewife. Kaka as JBA officer said that this problem happened because of something happened with the pipe. JBA needs to order the spare part from overseas for better quality. They refused to use the inequality spare part because it will not last for a long time. But for me, they need to keep some of spare part to make sure if something happen, they can just simply take out the spare part and use it.

CHAPTER 5
Reading 5.3 (Types of Exposition: ‘Persuading That’ and ‘Persuading To’)
In this chapter, it states that it has two type of exposition which is ‘analytical exposition’ and the other one is ‘hortatory exposition’. ‘Analytical exposition’ is to persuade people that some judgment is correct or to explain why things are as they are. In other words, it tries to tell why something is like we see or hear. It often associated with academic speaking and writing. For ‘hortatory exposition’, it tries to persuade people to do what the ‘Thesis’ recommends’ or to explain why things should change’. It includes text such as political speeches, letters to the editor and office memos designed to changed employee behaviour. ‘Thesis’ in hortatory exposition refers to the main point of an argument. In expository writing, ‘objective’ will attempt to give the impression that arguments is based only sound evidence, not in particular interpretation or opinion of the evidence.
Reading 5.4 (Metaphor)
This reading focuses on explaining the relationship between the writer’s choices of metaphor and how these choices may influence the readers. It stated clearly that metaphor plays a key role in enabling us to talk about and construct the world, and allows language users the flexibility to cope with rapidly changing circumstances. ‘Metaphor’ means language that directly compares seemingly unrelated subjects. In simple way, metaphor function is describing something with something for example She is flower which means that girl is beautiful. But then, nowadays people not really use it in their daily life. It comes naturally in our daily conversation. Metaphor in discourse is to illustrate an object in a rather different way (Interpretation of language). While container metaphor means an ontological metaphor in which some represent as having inside and outside, and capable of holding something else. Ontological metaphor is which an abstractive such as an activity, emotion or idea is represented as something concrete such as an object or a person.

CHAPTER 4
Reading 4.3 (What is the Evidence)
This part explained about issue of evidence. ‘Evidence’ refers to information that gives a strong reason for behaving or proves. In other words, to give answer to a question, describe on an event at which one was present. Two type of evidence. There is testimonial evidence while the other one is circumstantial evidence. Testimonial evidence refers to the thing that they use in court to show it as proves about something such as tape recorder, pictures, letters or else. Circumstantial evidence is not altogether trustworthy as a basis for determining guilt. They prefer testimonial evidence, such as eyewitnesses, who testify that they themselves have seen the accuse commit the crime.
Reading 4.4 (Statistic)
Statistic has two different meaning. For plural, it means information about any phenomenon or activity expressed in numeric form. For singular, it symbolized the art and science of collecting, presenting analyzing and interpreting numerical data. Statistic is important because it easy to use (basis) of rational decision and conclusion. The important of statistic are for the government, they use it to show the quantitative aspects of the social and also for the economics and physical condition. For business, it prediction of sales and cots, show the quality control, show the production markets researches and quantitative personal records. For research, it use for rely heavily on statistical analysis other quality of animal feeds and other form materials. But it often is misused. People with vested interest may enforce figures to serve their ends. Advertisement, for examples, always misleading statistical statement and reports. Ignorance and carelessness may also give rise to statistical blunders.
Reading 4.5 (Crooked and Fallacious Thinking)
Based on the presentation, ‘crooked’ means bent or twisted thinking while fallacious is an idea that people think that is rue but actually not. In this chapter, I understand on how the writers or speakers influence readers or viewer to agree with their statement.

CHAPTER 3
CHAPTER 3
Reading 3.3 (A Sketch of a Possible Linguistic Approach to Critical Literacy)
This reading tells about how language influences readers. Wignell’s approach is to develop the linguistic tools readers need to enable to them to recognize certain global or key elements of a text. All these elements have technical names. The first one is genre. It refers to types or style of literature. For field, it means scope of the writer about his/her writing. Tenor means general meaning of reader interpersonal. Mode refers to a way in which something occurs or is done. The last one is ideology, system of the idea. He said that although a text seems innocently devoid of ideology may in fact be shown to be highly ideological.
Reading 3.4 (Speech and Speaker: the Formation of Individuals in Discourse and Genre)
In this reading, I understand about how the article influence the readers (actually, this text are similar with Reading 3.3 but in different way of subject that the writer used in the text). There are some key terms that I need to understand. Ideal readers refers to one who is aware of the analyses of sexist discourse provided by feminist critique (and feminist discourse), and one who identifies with that critique. Discourse means the ways of speaking or writing which promote particular view of the world and how it should be; a particular perspective or stance. Stereotype means a fixed pattern of behaviour or thinking. Reading position can define as how the writers wanted the readers to view the text and take the stance. While subject position, there are sets of statement which describe and prescribe a range of poisons one may take up. The last one is genre that refers to type or category.
